Ime Usen Udo

Mrs. Ime Usen Udo was born in Lagos State to the royal family of Late Eteidung Okon Akpan Una, Obong
Item Ikono, Akwa Ibom State and had her early education in Lagos State, her Secondary Education at the
Federal Government Girls College Bauchi, Bauchi state and her university education at the University of
Uyo where she studied English and the University of Lagos where she had a post Graduate diploma in
Human resource management.
Mrs. Ime Udo is a Travel Management consultant and CEO Leadway tours and travel Ltd, a Travel
Management and Destination Company and one of the foremost indigenous tour companies offering
outbound, domestic, and inbound tours into Nigeria as a destination and as one of its professionally
packaged tourism services to selective destinations. She is also the CEO of Complete Advantage Ltd, A
Consultancy and business company.
She was the General Secretary for the Nigeria Association of Tour operators (NATOP) from 2016 – 2018,
the Vice President of the association from 2018 to 2022. She took over leadership of the association in
2022 and is currently the National President of NATOP.
Mrs. Udo is also a National Executive of the Federation of Tourism Association of Nigeria (FTAN) which is
the umbrella body for all tourism association in Nigeria where she holds the position of Financial
Secretary.
She was appointed as the Special Adviser on Culture and tourism to the Governor of Akwa Ibom State in
July 2023.
Mrs. Ime Udo worked closely as a Tourism consultant to various corporate and renowned companies in
Nigeria, including but not limited to
1. Cross River State Government (Cross river tourism bureau) 2005 – 2015
2. Federal Ministry of Tourism and Culture, Abuja. 2011 – 2016
Her expertise and passion for tourism earned her a meritorious nomination to the Governing board of the
Nation Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC) and the Chairman technical committee of the Board, 2015 –
2016.
Through her initiative on international collaborations and partnership on the development of tourism and
culture as a revenue driver, she was Awarded an Honorary Citizens award by the Mayor of the City of
Dallas, Texas USA, in 2016.
She was also awarded TOP 100 TOURISM personalities award in 2019 and awarded the prestigious PSR
National WOMAN OF MERIT Award in 2019. In 2022 Mrs. Ime Udo was awarded “Winner ” Africa Travel,
Top 100 women travel and tourism award”. Her company also receive an award as the “Most creative
and sustainable tourism development award by the Nigerian Cocoa awards amongst several other awards
including “Best coordination award by the GLOBAL infectious diseases initiative INC”,USA.
